Hekta was so well behaved during the journey, chatting to us all in the car. I set Hekta into his pen next to Jago, Hekta wasn't at all bothered by Jago next door. Off we went for a couple of hours whilst the judging took place, on checking the results board Hekta was unplaced in the Bucks Oxon show with a Cornish Rex taking the grand and another Cornish having 2nd place but the Reserve Grand was witheld. The East Sussex show Hekta had a N/J next to his name, after having a mini heart attack and thinking the worst like he was ill or had sprayed with Mr Hanson with 'odour de Hekta'!!! I enquired about this with the show manager who very kindly went to find Mr Hansonn to establish his reason for not judging, he had looked at the wrong pen where the cat next to Hekta had been withdrawn, he apologised and said he would repeat the judging - the result was tippex over the N/J on the slip and Hekta was unplaced in that show too - at this point the 'odour de Hekta' thought was becoming more appealing - with the same 2 Cornish taking the Grand and the other being placed 2nd but the reserve Grand was withheld, now this was the same 2 Cornish but the judges chose opposite ones for the grand and W/H on the reserve - make of that what you will but how one judge can award a Grand and another deem the same cat unworthy by withholding the reserve in the other show - makes no sense to me at all and shows how inconsistent the judging is.
I had advice about Hekta and as he is young he still has plenty of changing to do and his head should widen which should balance out his longer nose, which I do like but a lot of judges are preferring the more European type Devons, me I'm all for bringing back Kirlee with his straight profile, my Chesta is in that case a perfect original Devon Rex.
Now enough of the whining, I had a lovely day with Emma and Jay from Rexiru, whose crazy Daisy did exceptionally well again, gaining 2 Grand Premier CC's and BOB, she is one exceptional Devon Rex that is flying to the top and that loves the attention and struts her stuff in the pen, when we got home though she stole Mr T's new toy bird and slapped him for trying to take it back poor boy.

I met Gem Crazy cat lady and Jago who also had a fab day winning 2 CC's and BOB's and even that had to be sorted because of judging again I must thank her for agreeing to do all the reporting for the foreign results and let me off the hook I was far too rattled to concentrate.
After 2 weeks at home with babies it was so nice to get out the house but I did miss the babies and Sam had done a wonderful job with her friend Jade
