GCCF Cat Shows 2012
National Cat Club
7th December 2012
Bracknell Sport & Leisure Centre
Had a lovely day at the National Cat show, I stewarded for the first time for Mr Ian Macro and really enjoyed it even when the lovely Bengal drew blood on my arm with unclipped claws. Kimba was made up to Champion which I'm so pleased about and her Son Chesta was awarded his 1st CC, so proud of them both. I also have to add it was bloomin cold, I shall be investing in some thermals for future shows, it's no fun waiting for trains in the cold, I was sooo jealous of Kimba and Chesta snuggled up in their warm blankets. We really enjoyed this show and I will definately be going again next year.

My Lovely Dixylan Luna Lovegood won 1st and BOB, so proud of her.
On the run up to the show I was so stressed about making the drapes, but I did it and think I didn't do a bad job for my first time and Luna looked lovely in her decorated pen, we met some lovely people who were visiting the cat show and we had lots of questions and compliments from people. It was lovely to see friends there too and share the joys of the show. Mrs G Denny awarded Luna her 1st CC and then chose her for Best of Breed which made me so happy I gave her a big hug. Luna was then put forward to Best of Variety judged by Mr Steve Crow (one of my favourite judges) he couldn't help but give Luna a kiss, so cute it was, a stunning Bengal won that class and Mr Crow said he looked forward to seeing Luna again when she is older. At just 9 months and 2 days old I am so proud of Luna for her achievement today. Also thank you to all my friends for your support on the day, not least my Daughter Sam, couldn't have got through the day without you.
Special thanks to Jeanette Camm of Dixylan for trusting me with Luna xx

Was really looking forward to this show, and we had a really good day, met up with lots of friends new and old, future Mom and Grandmom to 2 of my current kittens came along too.
There was some fabulous Devons, Cornish, Selkirk Rex, Sphynx and Siamese and of course the household pets.
We didn't get to help out at this show, which didn't matter as we were so busy chatting all day.
Kimba enjoyed her day out and was very well behaved, she had a sit on my lap on the train journey to Milton Keynes, but was very happy to be going home and was quite content in the stroller all the way home. Everyone said what a lovely girl she is and I have to agree :-) Bootsy was there too, I have to mention him because he's just adorable xx
Well done to everyone who entered the show and made it such a good day, I look forward to next year.
Special thanks to Rubylicious Photography for the wonderful pictures taken of Kimba on the day.

Hekta was very vocal during the journey, which was quite amusing in the train stations watching peoples reactions to a loud cat yawping away and wondering where it was. He seemed to enjoy the attention of passers by who saw him in the stroller. Once at the show he let everyone know he had arrived. Judge Ian Macro took the time to have a chat about him when he had finished his judging, which I appreciated. My friend Nicole from Maystar designs had a cuddle and also bought Tomfun on exhibition, I had a cuddle with him and it was great to see how big he has got.
Sam and I helped out at this show on the tablework side of the show, we enjoyed the day and it went by very quickly. Being complete novices I think we did okay, hopefully we will be able to help out at the Rex show in November.

After delayed trains at New Street and arriving at the place just in time, very stressful sitting on a train that won't move!! We settled Chesta and Luna in their pens, had a quick cuddle and went to find somewhere to sit, we went up to the bar and had a coffee but it was a bit stuffy in there so we went out for some fresh air - no seats anywhere, in the hall there were no seats either so wasn't impressed with that. Luna did very well as usual, Chesta not so good so on advice I will wait till he has matured more before showing him again, his lack of stop is a puzzle to me because it was there when he was born and his coat is developing nicely, but one thing everyone agrees on is his temperament - he is my lovely boy who won my heart from the moment he opened his eyes and looked at me as a baby.

We had a long journey to get to the venue taking 2 taxis and 4 trains, which took 4 hours, the journey home was 3½ hours, the journey was made a lot easier with the pet stroller I purchased from Pet Planet for £38.99. Wood Green Animal Centre is a lovely venue and I highly recommend it, the grounds are very well kept and Sam and I sat by the river and ate lunch, we visited the cats, dogs and small animal centre. We had a lovely day, the show itself was well organised, the judges and stewards were helpful and friendly. I met up with new friends and old, I enjoyed my cuddle with my best friend Linda Foster's girl Kizzy (aka RIPPLEREX SEALED WITHAKIZZ ) who is a beautiful Devon girl, and it was also great to see Sonya Hornsby's wonderful Bootsy (aka Ch Spiritwalker Bootselectric). I hope to attend shows at this venue in the future but hope the train journey will be quicker.

Had a fabulous day with my Daughter Sam and good friends Linda and Karen. Kimba gained her second CC, the judge commented on what a fabulous coat she has and how well behaved she was. The venue was quite easy to get to via Train and Taxi. Special thanks to FGR innovations for their fabulous customer service. I have purchased some of their products today and can highly recommend them to anyone needing heated beds and wall heaters.

With the snow warning we were worried about getting stranded if the trains stopped running, but the Show Manager ended the show early so we could all get home, I believe all the judging was completed and despite the snow we made it home on the train. Again we met some lovely people and had a piece of cake that was very nice, thank you Shropshire Cat Club. This was Kimba's first show and she gained her first Challenge Certificate. Kimba was very well behaved and quite relaxed throughout the journey and the show.

We arrived at our first show feeling quite apprehensive, but we got through the vetting in and settled Chesta in his allocated pen, after lots of cuddles we left him and watched him from the next aisle, he soon settled down and was busy watching everyone go past him. After a final check we left the hall as no-one is allowed to stay while the main judging is carried out. With the company of Linda (Ripplerex) and Karen (Karenannekatz) the 2 hours went by quickly. We met some lovely people there and I enjoyed chatting to everyone. As soon as we got back in the hall we were all eager to check the results which is quite exciting, especially when we saw Chesta had been awarded a 1st from judge Miss C White. I am so proud of him, he was so well behaved too. The other classes were judged throughout the rest of the afternoon and in total Chesta won 3 firsts, 1 second, 1 third and 1 fourth. My Daughter Sam who enjoyed the day as much as I did gave me all the help and support I needed. I would have probably got on the wrong train and me and Chesta would have ended up lost somewhere in England, thank you Sam
